Additional Description: Arguably one of Fords most beautiful and enduring classic designs! This gorgeous Fairlane 500 Skyliner Retractable is nicely optioned with an Interceptor 332ci V8, Fordomatic, power steering & brakes, AM radio, and fender skirts! Do not hesitate, these rare, in-demand cars sell quickly! With its exceptional and unequaled use of stainless steel and chrome accents, folding & retracting hardtop roof, its embodiment of the "Long and Low" style of the time, and its fusion of locomotive & aviation design cues-the Ford Fairlane 500 is certainly among the last great contributions to the legacy of Art Deco inspired automotive styling produced in the United States. We are very excited to offer this 1958 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner Retractable! Finished in code correct Raven Black/Colonial White with two-tone White & Black combination vinyl & cloth interior, this exceptional and very rare Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner with retractable hard-top represents the second production year for this classic convertible! Well ahead of its time, these cars demonstrate, perhaps, the pinnacle of 1950's design as well as mechanical ingenuity! Built new from the Kansas City, MO production plant, this Skyliner is equipped with the G-code Interceptor 332ci Special V8 engine producing 265 horsepower & 360 lb. ft. of torque, with a Fordomatic automatic transmission and 3.10:1 rear axle ratio. Additional features include Swift Sure power brakes, Master-Guide power steering, Magicaire heater/defrost system, working power retractable top, fender skirts, all tinted glass, working push-button AM radio, Coker Classic 4-ply wide whitewall tires & full wheel covers, back-up lamps, and lower rocker trim! It was frame-on restored with exceptional results! The original condition of the undercarriage and chassis visually support this car spent little to no time in inclement weather conditions. All body panels show clear spot welds, factory seams, with wonderful body gaps & fitment. New base coat/clear coat exterior paint remains visually stunning, especially with the re-plated chrome and polished bright work! The same can be said on the interior. The beautifully painted dash, clear functional gauges, rebuilt original AM radio with new speaker, all new seating upholstery & carpet, door panels, and more! The under hood presentation doesn't disappoint either. Small, factory details to include FOMOCO part stickers, tags, and original components should impress at any car show. And it remains one of the most drivable examples available anywhere at any price. Kept by meticulous owners in the past, this Fairlane 500 has survived the test of time in stunning fashion! Do not delay, this car will move fast! Included with the sale of this Fairlane 500 Retractable will be an original owner's manual and 1958 Service Forum booklet. Please fell welcome to call with additional questions, or to schedule a chance to view the vehicle in person. We look forward to working with you!

Recalls are a well-established global practice; from time to time they are announced by almost all manufacturers of not only cars, but also any other industrial products. But since a car is considered a source of increased danger, it is recalls in the automotive industry that attract the most attention and cause the greatest resonance. Check if your car is covered by a recall campaign. Sometimes manufacturers will recall their cars because of substandard parts or workmanship and repair them for free, regardless of the warranty. This is called a recall campaign. More information on 1958 Ford FAIRLANE recalls can be found in this database. It may be useful to use online problems resource that shows automotive defect patterns, based on complaint data submitted by vehicle owners. The problems are organized into groups with data published by vehicle, component, and specific issue. See also an updated list of 1958 Ford FAIRLANE problems before buying a used car. In most cases, the recall is initiated by the manufacturer. But it also happens that it is forced to do so. The largest and most scandalous recall campaigns were those that were initiated by complaints and lawsuits from consumers through controlling state structures.
