Recalls are a well-established global practice; from time to time they are announced by almost all manufacturers of not only cars, but also any other industrial products. But since a car is considered a source of increased danger, it is recalls in the automotive industry that attract the most attention and cause the greatest resonance. Check if your car is covered by a recall campaign. Sometimes manufacturers will recall their cars because of substandard parts or workmanship and repair them for free, regardless of the warranty. This is called a recall campaign. More information on 1998 Lexus LS 400 recalls can be found in this database. It may be useful to use online problems resource that shows automotive defect patterns, based on complaint data submitted by vehicle owners. The problems are organized into groups with data published by vehicle, component, and specific issue. See also an updated list of 1998 Lexus LS 400 problems before buying a used car. In most cases, the recall is initiated by the manufacturer. But it also happens that it is forced to do so. The largest and most scandalous recall campaigns were those that were initiated by complaints and lawsuits from consumers through controlling state structures.

Additional Description: Yes, you read that correctly. This car actually has 371,000 miles on it and EVERYTHING WORKS--windows, locks, sunroof, stereo, A/C. I'm selling this car on consignment for a friend who no longer needs it. The owner purchased it with just over 100,000 miles on it a little over 10 years ago and has religiously maintained it--timing belt has been replaced every 100k miles, oil changed every 5000 miles with Mobil1 oil and filter every time, and it's only ridden on Michelin tires. Even though it's been extremely well-maintained, it's still not perfect (it DOES have 371k after all), but there's nothing major wrong with it--only a small oil leak and some cosmetic issues on the exterior. A relative of the owner accidentally backed into with his truck and dented the front left fender and door; the clear coat is fading on the front and rear bumpers; the driver's seat has seen better days; there's a small crack in the windshield; and the exterior driver's door handle recently broke so it's a little tricky opening the door. The car runs and drives great and I personally wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. Because this is a consignment deal I don't have much say in the price, but am willing to bring any reasonable offers to the owner. My name is Tyler and I'm a local, independent licensed auto broker. I don't have a big fancy dealership so I don't have to mark up my cars as much. Unfortunately, I do not provide any in-house financing. Trades are always welcome. I just work out of a small warehouse by myself and I don't have any pushy salesmen. So if you want a relaxed, easy, and HONEST buying experience, give me a ring and we'll set up a time to get together.
