Recalls are a well-established global practice; from time to time they are announced by almost all manufacturers of not only cars, but also any other industrial products. But since a car is considered a source of increased danger, it is recalls in the automotive industry that attract the most attention and cause the greatest resonance. Check if your car is covered by a recall campaign. Sometimes manufacturers will recall their cars because of substandard parts or workmanship and repair them for free, regardless of the warranty. This is called a recall campaign. More information on 1987 Volkswagen VANAGON recalls can be found in this database. It may be useful to use online problems resource that shows automotive defect patterns, based on complaint data submitted by vehicle owners. The problems are organized into groups with data published by vehicle, component, and specific issue. See also an updated list of 1987 Volkswagen VANAGON problems before buying a used car. In most cases, the recall is initiated by the manufacturer. But it also happens that it is forced to do so. The largest and most scandalous recall campaigns were those that were initiated by complaints and lawsuits from consumers through controlling state structures.

Additional Description: The VW Van has taken on many identities throughout the years. It has also taken millions of people millions of miles on road trips, college, music festivals and camp outings. There are very few people in the world that dont have at least one story about a VW Bus/Van, myself included. The Vanagon was post bay windown and pre Eurovan. They went through a number of engine variants including the change over to water cooled which in the beginning caused for some headaches until you got it sorted correctly or you had your VW mechanic on speed dial. Nonetheless, if you have or found a good one, they are hard to let go of. This particular cool rig has been a one family owned unit since the early to mid-1990s. It has been adult owned this entire time and I have an absolute ridiculous fat stack of service and maintenance receipts dating back a long way with the most important one being a full engine rebuild by the famous Fat Performance out of Orange, CA in 1998. The other cool thing about this Van is it has always been from the dry West, CO, NM and CA. Just recently has it made its way to MI. It has also had some upgrades like headlights and exhaust and most recently struts, brakes, power steering and tires. The rebuild was a full overhaul that included extra power that totaled over $5,000 in 1998. For a full laundry list of other receipts, please feel free to get a hold of us. This thing, starts, runs and sounds spectacular. It has recently just completed a trip from Florida to Michigan with no problems. Cosmetically it is not perfect but there is no rust or corrosion and has a lot of miles left in her.Power Steering, Power Brakes, Gauge - Tachometer, Clock, Wheel Diameter - 14 Inch, Wheels - Steel, Tinted Glass, Window Defogger - Rear, Front Wipers - Intermittent, Front Seat Type - Bucket, Third Seat, Upholstery - Cloth
